This course introduces the foundations of business analytics as a basis for data-driven decision-making. Students will gain hands-on experience in data preparation, visualization, descriptive statistics, regression, and forecasting using Excel and Tableau. The course covers the full analytics process β from data understanding and cleaning to exploration, visualization, and knowledge discovery. Through case studies and guided exercises, students will apply analytical techniques to real-world business scenarios, learning to clean data, identify trends, build dashboards, and communicate insights that drive informed decisions.
Course Objectives
Provide students with an understanding of the processes involved in data acquisition and analysis within organizations to meet specified goals.
Develop studentsβ ability to explore data through querying and visualization.
Develop the ability to conduct descriptive and predictive analytics to support decision making.
Develop the ability to draw inferences and conclusions and communicate insights through visualization.
